I'm working to further the study of gerrymandering and congressional redistricting. I also work on operations research problems related to Tufts' response to the coronavirus pandemic.
• Designed, developed, and deployed an algorithm for scheduling coronavirus tests for 10,000 people at Tufts University using Google OR-Tools (mixed integer programming) and Flask.
• Implemented Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithms for gerrymandering detection and redistricting analysis in Julia, speeding up core lab workflows by several orders of magnitude.
• Designed highly parallel algorithms for redistricting analysis (scaling to hundreds of cores).
• Coordinated with IT and logistics stakeholders at Tufts University and Wellesley College in the development and maintenance of a React Native-based app for coronavirus test scheduling.
• Designed a data pipeline and mixed integer programming-based algorithm for matching hospitals to universities with excess bed capacity for coronavirus relief.
