• Architected robust backend systems interfacing with the Twitter API and ListenNotes API, enriching the product’s content offering by adding 10,000+ tweets and 500+ podcasts every month.
• Enhanced the user experience by updating 4 highly visited pages (responsible for 80%+ of all traffic) to serialize query parameters, enabling users to bookmark search filters and laying the groundwork for server-side saved filters.
• Implemented server-side pagination for 4 frequently called API endpoints, replacing client-side pagination and decreasing the request-response cycle time for those pages by 10x, from an average 5s to 500ms.
• Utilized Datadog to support product stability by creating 5+ dashboards and 20+ alerts, monitoring API endpoint performance, database activity, and scheduled tasks, enabling the team to promptly address errors and instability.
• Developed API endpoints and a user-friendly rich text editor for the product’s internal dashboard, enabling the research team to add 150+ reports to the product as inline content, previously only available as PDF files.
• Modernized the backend system that delivers scheduled email notifications to 200+ customers with 60 minute resolution, improving robustness by resolving inconsistencies with handling timezones and daylight savings time.
