Maintain and develop extensive Python/C++ codebase for commercial scientific software as part of a joint team of scientists and developers.

Led two research projects involving data aggregation and analysis, software development, and peer-reviewed publication.

I study the interactions of massive stars and cold, dense gas in our Galaxy as part of the international FEEDBACK collaboration.

I aggregate data from many disparate sources, including far-infrared and millimeter wave spectral line observations; photometric image data spanning the radio to the X-ray; and tabular catalogs of the central star cluster illuminating the region.

I develop modular and reusable analysis software using a variety of techniques/frameworks including parallel processing, memory-efficient computation with large datasets, manipulation of relational databases, modular programming, and API/CLI design. I have extensive experience creating data visualizations for myself and others.

I work together with a team of researchers here at UMD as well as an international collaboration. I carefully document my research and software and I communicate my research through visualizations, presentations, and publications.

During the 2017-19 school years, I led discussion and lab sections for 40 undergraduate students. My responsibilities included preparing discussion lectures & material, preparing students for and overseeing lab activities, grading all assignments for my students, providing certain input into course logistics, and serving as the primary point of contact for my students.

Reduced centimeter-wave scans of Jupiter taken with the CARMA radio/millimeter telescope array in California into disk-averaged measurements of the planet's thermal emission. With these measurements, I fit an appropriate tropospheric NH3 model at the atmospheric elevation where the pressure = 1 bar using a radiative transfer modeling software. I published my results in The Astronomical Journal (see Publications).

My responsibilities included physically-motivated mathematical/computational data reduction, maintaining and expanding a working understanding of the project's physical background and scientific context, and logging/writing up my analysis in a publication-ready format. I worked in Python and developed my own reduction/analysis code. I operated and modified a radiative transfer software written in Python by one of my advisers.

I worked summers and winters at Retinal Consultants between 2013 and 2015. I started in 2013 as an office clerk and assisted in the transition from paper charts to Electronic Health Records (EHR). The following summer, I took on more responsibility after training as a medical technician. I worked the final summer primarily as a clinic technician and shadow to the doctor.

My responsibilities as an office clerk included managing patient health records and assisting with work flow throughout the business office and front desk, including making and receiving office phone calls.

My responsibilities as a medical technician included collecting vitals, sanitizing & preparing rooms for visits, and assisting the doctor with non-surgical procedures. I operated optical coherence tomography (OCT) equipment to scan patients' retinas.

These responsibilities required a large degree of patient/customer interaction. I have experience maintaining a pleasant, helpful, and customer-first attitude and approach throughout the workday.
