Imbellus was an interdisciplinary team of learning scientists, game developers, artists, data scientists, and AI engineers. We built assessments that measure how people think, not just what they know.

I led design and development of the design system, component library, and other design tooling. I was involved in UX and UI design across several assessment tasks as well as external pitches and internal tools.

Worked directly with CEO to concept mobile experience, growth features, and differentiation.

Increased mobile site usage & conversions.

Developed a style guide building on existing brand assets.

Collaborated with developers to test, implement & iterate the design.

Taught a group of 7 girls (14-16) game design and development. Lectured on game design (parts of a game, kinds of fun, and narrative). Lectured on programming (html, javascript, variables, conditionals, loops). Ran design activities. Supported them working in teams on games in Phaser.js and HTML/JQuery.

Designed gameplay and user experiences that teach about growth mindset and the brain. Wrote game character dialogue as well as other game text. Outlined user interface specifications for contract artists. Iterated on gameplay and user experience design based on feedback from over 20 school playtests.
