• Tech lead for two major services of AWS CloudFront, Lambda@Edge and CloudFront Function, enabling secure, ultra-low-latency JavaScript execution at the network edge with global distribution.
• Eliminated critical performance bottlenecks by optimizing worker spawn latency at the millisecond level, reducing socket queuing time, and implementing a high-efficiency inter-process communication protocol.
• Led end-to-end operational readiness, including deployment, monitoring, incident response, and auto-scaling to support millions of RPS.
• Built CPU/process isolation to ensure multi-tenant security and prevent cross-customer interference.
• Built and launched KeyValueStore@Edge, an in-memory datastore written in Rust that enables customers to access up to 5MB of read-only data at edge locations with minimal latency overhead and hardened memory isolation architecture.
• Enabled CloudFront to support record-breaking traffic, including live streaming for the 2023 Cricket World Cup, by optimizing CPU utilization and runtime performance.
• Scaled the team, providing technical mentorship, driving design reviews, and ensuring high engineering quality across multiple edge services.
