● As part of the IT Architecture team, developed and instituted strategy, guidance, and vision for the NI IT department, with a strong focus on ni.com and web-based systems.

● Worked to develop NI's cloud strategy and plan for the migration of ni.com to the cloud.

● Realized the need to align "ni.com Core Services" to the cloud-based future state by migrating services from an internal Apache layer to Cloudflare's Workers platform. Executed POCs, sold the value to business, acquired a budget for contractors, and ultimately handed off newly created Workers to a newly formed team that operationalized them. This improved global performance and reduced the effort of integrating SaaS into ni.com.

● Analyzed performance issues with electronic software delivery in China. Worked with Cloudflare to better understand the infrastructure situation in China, executed POCs utilizing infrastructure at AWS, GCP, Tencent, and Digital Ocean and Catchpoint measurements to research and develop new delivery architectures. Worked with various teams to API-enable the download deployment process in order to separate delivery infrastructure from deployment infrastructure to enable moving to proposed future state.

● Provided technical leadership to an international team responsible for ni.com infrastructure and systems. Worked closely with developers to design new functionality, troubleshoot issues, and generally educate them about the environment.

● Setup POC to test various CDN vendors' (Akamai, Verizon, AWS CloudFront, Cloudflare, etc) ability to cache and deliver software downloads. Selected Cloudflare as our new CDN and successfully migrated from Akamai to Cloudflare without downtime. This migration increased performance, decreased cost, and added a number of significant features (DDoS support, WAF support, a Serverless platform).

● Upgraded and reachitected the Java runtime environment for ni.com. Migrated application server to WebLogic, built a deployment process to support WebLogic and other targets (Adobe Experience Manager, WebSphere Commerce, etc), and generally built a "future ready" infrastructure. Deployment times and quality improved dramatically, enabling business agility and runtime costs were lowered.

● Improved ability to monitor and troubleshoot multitiered application performance by selecting and deploying SteelCentral AppInternals into the ni.com runtime environment. Setup dashboards, trained developers on the use of the tool, greatly increasing awareness of performance issues and narrowing the time taken to resolve them.

● Helped to architect, deploy, and operate SaaS products.

● Built and maintained multiple product infrastructures across multiple datacenters in multiple countries. Automated and standardized hardware and software installs so that a limited team of engineers could handle operations.

● Responsible for helping customer support troubleshoot product related issues and for working with development to develop and improve products.

● Helped to design, build, deploy, and maintain a new web-based workflow system used to receive and process loan applications.
