Architected and implemented the Cost Drivers feature for Amazon Vendors, while working in another team’s codebase.

Worked with Product Owners to collect customers pain points for Edit Item Cost Vendor Experience, designed a new vision for a set of existing web pages. Implemented a set of new features for flexible search, filter, and export of data for Item Costs. Improved existing performance, deployed the feature making sure to support increased load on existing servers. Collected customer usage metrics, performed post analysis of the feature.

Wrote org-level post mortem for a security flaw in the ASIN search feature of Cost Update Status web page. Collected customer impact data from multiple data sources.

Designed and implemented a set of data pipelines to move item updates from DynamoDB tables into Amazon’s data lake.

Architected and wrote a vision for bare metal service migration into the cloud native AWS for a sister team.

Assessed the company's existing product (MCellblock) codebase and introduced (implemented and taught) a structural approach to software development to a team of SDETs. Prepared a tech vision for legacy components refactoring. Covered the codebase with unit and integration tests. On a regular basis was responsible for tech talk sessions where taught the team programming best practices. Created org’s “Standards and Conventions” knowledge base for existing developers and new hires.

Designed and implemented a framework for MCellblock’s Test Scenarios and its API for external customers. Analyzed the performance aspect and improved the framework's startup/teardown time by 60%.

Designed implemented WebSocket message proxy component for Android to Java applications.

Reverse engineered and documented functionality and design of abandoned tech stack and hotel management system. Performed performance analysis, identified system’s weak spots and bottlenecks, proposed ways to stabilize and improve the system, and implemented the most critical of them (DB SQL queries optimization, Hibernate session and transaction management, decoupling entities, etc). Collected customers’ pain points and feature requests, filled the team's backlog with structured user stories for next two years.

Introduced code quality standards and tools, trained the team to follow software development best practices.

Implemented room rate caching mechanism and integration with smart rate suggestion engine.

Designed and implemented a database migration project (Cassandra to MariaDB) of a charity social network ThatHelps. Performed production migration with less than 40 min downtime. Made a bunch of post-migration performance improvements (70% faster database queries). Implemented features like user privacy levels and content visibility. Improved project’s CI/CD reducing release time to 2 minutes.

Designed and implemented a Blockchain-based Payment System UK DWP. Worked both on front-end and back-end, as well as provided system support after production release. Later designed and implemented a POS-to-iOS transaction protocol for safe blockchain payments.

Designed, implemented, and released to the open source an Excel-compatible Calculation Engine library, used by the company's major clients for analytical applications. Investigated and forked the Apache POI framework, tweaked its performance, enhanced with several features like: Runtime Calculation Execution graph, Static Cell Dependency graph, Custom Functions with flexible external data sources (e.g. SQL, OData, Files, etc.).
