Worked on a team to test functionality of new methods for processing and storing user data. Experimented with geocoding addresses to latitude/longitude coordinates using census data. Generated a proof-of-concept for using a Druid database for real-time ingestion and processing of data, scaling up from running it locally to deploying it on an AWS cluster of EC2 and EMR instances. Collaborated with another intern to create a parser to generate complex queries for the database.
