Member Experience API:

Own the edge layer API systems that serve all member content discovery on Netflix (home page, etc.). Building a highly flexible GraphQL schema to accommodate the constantly evolving landscape of content and product features on Netflix across a wide variety of devices.

Technical leader for high-impact team driving majority of sessions on the platform. Experience designing high-throughput systems serving 100M+ notifications per day, including multi-stage notifications delivery funnel, content generation service.

• Improve scalability and availability of core services and datastores across org

• Own/maintain critical internal systems such as offline task processing, job scheduling pipeline, email/push delivery.

An interesting project I worked on and wrote about below:

Intern on Communications team, developing features for Snapchat iOS app

• Created microservice responsible for delivery of 50 million emails per day.

• Saved company over $250K per year in AWS and outbound bandwidth costs and decreased taskworker load by almost 50%.

• Ran canary deployments to measure performance for various strategies (compression, data store choice, etc) and optimize delivery time.
