This is a multi year program to consolidate and modernize the bank’s Payment Initiation platforms in the Treasury services LOB. I joined as a developer in the beginning of the program. Soon I was a technical lead and now I am the overall technical lead for the platform.
I had the opportunity to create the technical design and build the foundation for the next generation platform working with the architects and product partners. Worked with vendors to evaluate and decision on the tools we included in the platform.
It is a large scale global platform. B2B solutions to support a broad and sometimes unique integrations have been interesting problems to solve.
With 60+ developers building the platform, 10+ projects at any given time, and a constant in/out flow of developers, it was difficult to keep the technical team on the strategic path. I constantly mentor the teams by running forums, workshops and built a knowledge base.
The platform included BRMS, BPM, CEP, XMLDB, Industry standard canonicals and many Integration patterns such as SOA, APIs, Messaging, files, async, sync, etc.

The organization had decided to build a Business Rules platform using ODM (ILog). I was fortunate to be part of the team to help build the platform and deliver projects on it. Quickly became an SME in this area.
I always look for opportunities to maximize the benefit to the project and organization from tools that the company invests in.
I helped build a semantic domain model that helped rule authoring be more natural.
There were challenges in exciting these rules in a batch high volume process for which I was able to implement a solution.
Introduced the organization to Agile development methodology and implemented it in a small scale within the projects that I was involved with.

It was for the Capital markets and they gave me 3 teams and an agile coach. The timelines were aggressive to build and roll out an boarding platform. My teams and business partners were globally distributed which made this part of my career even more exciting.
It was a client and account on boarding platform supporting various Capital Market products.
We used BRM and BPM tools. These tools were still maturing and to help keep the rapid pace, I had to build some frameworks to build and save forms in the business process.

During this time the industry was going through lots of mergers and acquisitions and peaked at about 2007. This was a system to help the bank deals with these events. It was a very early J2EE that was built in the late 90s. It soon became difficult to scale and maintain.
I was given a team and tasked with rewriting this application which completed successfully and exceeded all expectations.
The nature of this business, strict regulations and mandates made the entitlements model complex and challenging to understand/implement. I helped build a solution using elegant data structures and applying mathematical concepts.
