Login & Registration
• Launched authentication with Google for Android, resulting in +4% authentication success rate and +6 million daily active users.
• Designed and led the company wide effort to launch username recycling, allowing over 1 billion inactive usernames to become available over the next 2 years.
• Migrated the Login endpoints from a monolith Java service to a Golang microservice, resulting in -82% p90 latency and -41% error rate.
• Led the multi-team effort to successfully migrate Snapchat Web Login to the new Login Service, resulting in +10% login success rate, -57% p90 latency and +2% daily active users.
• Shaped cross-org roadmap by proposing a challenge orchestration system, enabling dynamic challenges based on transaction types and risk signals. Successfully launched with Web Login migration.
Push Notifications
• Developed a SQS based system to save push notifications that fail to send; saving and delivering over 65 million notifications daily and billions of notifications during downstream outages.
• Alleviated security concerns and unblocked the preload of the Snapchat App on certain devices, by
implementing end-to-end notification payload encryption.
• Added images of user Bitmoji avatars to push notifications, creating a more personalized experience;
resulted in increased user engagement.

Worked in S3's Region Build Automation team.
• Designed key components of the region build automation system (v2), that will soon be adopted by teams across AWS.
• Provided management with insight into the KPIs of the region build automation software by implementing an instrumentation strategy for the system.
• Saved developers several days of manual effort each month by designing teardown scripts; minimized risk by conducting a safety review.
• Defined team coding standards, testing strategy, and best practices.

Worked in the FireTV Search team to accomplish the following:
• Re-architected FireTV’s search system, simplifying the design and separating concerns into multiple services.
• Created, instrumented, and launched the Video Search service, allowing for expansion into additional marketplaces and devices.
• Operationalized and launched the Video Entity Resolution service, enabling customers to search through a larger video catalog using voice.
• Ensured the timely launch of the Video Entity Resolution service by defining and load testing APIs in services owned by sister teams.
• Integrated voice search with FireTV applications such as Youtube and Amazon Music by developing the Search In Apps feature.
• Analyzed large search data-sets with EMR to prototype tools for evaluating the quality of search results.
• Fostered the growth of the engineering team from a single developer (myself) to a team of six.
