Started as part of a team specializing in refactoring legacy code and improving performance of mission critical applications. This included projects to remove complicated business logic from stored procedures, query and index tuning, and caching. I played a key roll in an initiative to get all of IT moving to a cloud friendly architecture leveraging Spring and Netflix APIs with all applications running in Docker containers deployed to an OpenStack environment and later Docker Swarm. Assisted in the implementation of our Continuous Delivery platform with Gradle, Teamcity, Ansible, Liquibase, SonarQube, Black Duck Security, and Docker. This allowed automated production releases with capabilities to do canary releases, feature toggles, zero downtime deployments, and rollbacks. Lead integrations with a diverse group of partners to generate more B2B respondent panels who were then rewarded via REST, SOAP, and file batch processes for their participation in our surveys. Took over and optimized a service focused on third party cookie ad tracking integrations with multiple big named clients. This now earns over $720 thousand in revenue per year and has optimized targeting for better survey completion rates. Most recently my focus has been to optimize and modernize fraud detection in applications utilizing Kafka and event driven applications.

Managed and trained a team of over 40 students to troubleshoot and asses IT related issues that students, facility and professors would have.

Managed a university wide ticket queue that covered on site and call center based user assistance.

Operated, installed and maintained all university owned computer and printer equipment in classrooms and labs. Used imaging software to streamline updates. Retired old hardware in cycles to keep university up to date with technology. Taught student workers how to maintain printers and how to fix common issues that occur for positions in the university print labs.

Assisted Students, Faculty and Professors with AV equipment support and instructed on how to properly use and enhance user experience.
