Served as the lead engineer for Twilio <Pay>, a payments product that allows Twilio customers to accept payments over the phone. Major projects/accomplishments:

• Helped to scale the transaction volume through the platform by 100x over the last two years.

• Worked closely with the product team to balance engineering tasks and product facing features on a quarterly basis.

• Led the engineering effort for moving our newest product to GA and monetizing it. Implemented a new mode for the product to allow customers to test transactions without being billed for them.

• Migrated multiple services from AL1 to AL23 to support the EOL deadline for Amazon Linux 1.

Worked as a backend engineer on the Twilio Voice Conference and Twilio <Pay> products.

Major Projects/Accomplishments:

• Helped to increase <Pay> transaction volume by over 100% in 2022.

• Helped to secure largest <Pay> customer to date by meeting directly with the customer over multiple months and building features to resolve their concerns.

• Worked directly with the support team to help resolve customer issues and provide technical advice for customer applications.

• Served as main technical point of contact for the PCI Audit.

Worked as a backend engineer supporting the Voice Conference product.

Major Projects/Accomplishments:

• Instrumented a pipeline that used Kafka, Spark, and Scala to land data in AWS S3 to enable my team to reduce the data retention of our MySQL database from 11 years to 13 months, which improved performance and increased the runway for the database.

• Created a standalone load test for one of our SIP services that used SIPP to estimate throughput limits of the service and calculate runway.

• Served as a mentor to a Hatch Apprentice to give back to the program that gave me an opportunity in Software Engineering.

Completed a 6 month apprenticeship with Twilio which ultimately led to a full time role.

Major Projects/Accomplishments:

• Added a new field to the Twilio Voice Conference API that described why a conference had ended.

• Worked in React on internal tools for the Messaging product.
