● Delivered on-time and under budget major milestones for an ongoing $400M, one-of-a-kind repair and modernization project of a national strategic asset (Ballistic Missile Defense Navy Warship) that suffered major structural damage during a collision at sea.

● Successfully compressed the planning phase from the prescribed 360 day period (major repair project planning timeline) to 150 days to meet urgent stakeholder requirements.

● Conceptualized and launched an innovative new department to execute the repair and modernization of a national strategic asset.

● Responsible for the negotiation of more than 900 contract change orders, worth more the $80 million, without delaying the project schedule.

SPAWAROfficer in Charge

2015 — 2017

Bremerton, Washington

● Hand-selected by the Chief Executive (Commanding Officer) to launch the 13 person Pacific Northwest Detachment and assumed the role as the first Regional Manager (Officer-in-Charge).

● Implemented improved project management practices across the Detachment resulting in the successful execution of $60M worth of information technology (IT) and communications equipment upgrades delivering mission critical capabilities on 20 different Navy ships and submarines.

● Planned and executed time critical IT upgrades on a national strategic asset (Nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarine). Reduced the implementation time by 40% over the best previous effort (from 140 days to 85 days). The time savings allowed the submarine to deploy on schedule in support of its national security mission. Personally recognized by two different stakeholder chief executives for this effort.

● Developed an innovative prime contractor schedule tracking tool that was adopted corporate-wide allowing project managers to better assess schedule health of complex modernization efforts.

Puget Sound Naval ShipyardProject Officer

2013 — 2015

Bremerton, Washington

● Deputy Project Manager for a $106M multi-year maintenance project on a nuclear submarine. Developed and implemented key project execution strategies and led the project during the planning and first 3 months of execution.

● Deputy Project Manager for a $62M maintenance project on a nuclear aircraft carrier. Directly coordinated 296K man-hours of nuclear power plant work to include eight straight weeks of time-sensitive safety related maintenance.

● Safety Officer for a $64M maintenance project on a nuclear submarine. Coordinated the first-time implementation of a sweeping overhaul of Navy fire safety guidance. Coordinated all high risk safety evolutions on the project to include placing the ship into and out of a dry docked condition without incident.
