Steff serves as Guest Programmer for Maysles Documentary Center’s 2026 film series Sacred Fire: Gospel, Resistance & Black Liberation, a multi-modal public humanities project exploring gospel music and the Black faith tradition as engines of political struggle, spiritual resilience, and collective transformation.

Manage logistics, scheduling, and communications between the food pantry, the community, and the JCC.

Recruit, oversee, coordinate, and maintain a team of up to 15 volunteers daily for pantry operations.

Support the mission of the JCC while advocating for the needs of our volunteers such as conflict resolution between volunteers and staff and writing letters to probation officers.

Collaborate with co-workers, volunteers, and community partners to provide groceries for 300+ families weekly in the Crown Heights community.

Design and implement socially responsive curricula and lesson plans that are inquiry-driven and foster hands-on art-making activities in support of students’ self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and communication skills.

Conduct pre and post teaching assessments.

Developed and designed classes for middle school male students (ages 11-15) that integrate social justice, songwriting, and music production, as well as mental health and storytelling oral histories engaging the work of bell hooks, who had just recently passed away. In the wake of Black Lives Matter and the COVID-19 pandemic, schools searched for programs that center Social Emotional Learning (S.E.L.) My program addressed this need while utilizing the new cultural demand of podcasting as a means to intimately connect with and build community.

Coordinate weekly meetings with the school principal and Apollo’s director of education to discuss learning goals, worksite challenges, and the progress of students.

Facilitate student and residency evaluations and assessments to measure the efficacy of our in-school workshops.

Attend professional development training to keep current and knowledgeable of best pedagogical practices.

Leverage social and cultural capital through social media and direct community engagement to raise campaign awareness and boost volunteer

enrollment.

Connect the campaign with local and national press outlets such as AFROPUNK and Boycott Times to showcase the platform’s progressive

policy stances.

Collaborate with the media team to produce and host Man on the Streets interviews, shedding light on campaign pillars, including the

eradication of poverty, elimination of homelessness, and demilitarization of US and affiliated forces.

Launch arts and culture initiatives within the campaign that seek to empower artists and culture creators within the constituency to use media to

bring attention to the campaign.
