• Updated Ruby backend to move synchronous blocking components to asynchronous background tasks and processed client data at various endpoints to be fetched and displayed for the user to see in a sorted list

• Worked on React frontend application for task management, appointment scheduling, and group settings; including updating UX/CSS

• Tutor 30-50 students weekly during lab hours and office hours in programming concepts such as data structures, algorithms, time complexity, and compilers to complete various assignments, resulting in an 80-90% submission rate

• Supervise 60 students during weekly labs to help review material covered, and provide feedback during whiteboard coding assessments to ensure students understand their own program and can explain it to other colleagues

• Help professor’s proctor exams, grade assignments for quicker grade submission/corrections, and update software and hardware components on lab computers to give students high accessibility to the machines during office hours

My research project focused on utilizing plant-microbial interactions to synthesize natural products for potential use in medicine, pharmaceutical industry, and more. Initially several researchers and I grew microbial co-cultures to observe common products synthesized. Some products were aromatic and derivatives of tryptophan; as a result I used Aloe-Vera microbial co-culture with tryptophan to target production of specific derivatives in order to further analyze its structure for potential uses.
