As CTO and the sole engineer at ManageMyCards, I designed and built a cross-platform mobile app and backend system that tracked the value of trading card collections by sourcing data from multiple auction platforms.

Our stack was built from the ground up using GraphQL, Typescript, and Firebase deployed on GCP FaaS, and using Flutter for our mobile app.

• Managed the development, deployment, and support of a complex distributed system around our MQTT broker as we scaled to support millions of connected vehicles

• Continuously pushed my team to find new ways to approach problems as we scale our MQTT broker and Kafka throughput

• Built tooling to enable the rapid adoption of Distributed Tracing, Kotlin, and Functional Programming

• Led the effort to adopt Chaos Engineering, allowing our team to test the reliability and resiliency of our services and infrastructure

• Developed an Android SDK to simplify communications between Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and hardware systems

• Designed and productized a PCB to allow RS485-enabled devices to communicate over Bluetooth with external hardware

• Developed and integrated closed-loop, brushless DC motor and driver, controlled remotely through Bluetooth

• Designed and integrated an Android HMI to control a spring-forming machine for production use in an industrial factory. Features included: recipe management, failure detection, user management, metrics collection, and cloud diagnostics

• Developed a table lift control system that was integrated into a Boeing 777 aircraft
