Analysis, design, development and support of DailyCandy's technology systems - email generation software, web site and content management software, e-commerce web site and integration with 3rd party platform services.

• As Associate Product Manager, collaborated with Editorial department on new feature requirements for DailyCandy’s proprietary content management system to improve usability and user productivity for generating content for DailyCandy’s web site.

• Development lead and primary server side developer for migration from a third party version to a new internal version of an e-commerce web site that resulted in a shorter implementation cycle for adding new site features.

• Development lead and primary server side developer for an e-commerce pilot program with American Express and Beamly (formerly Zeebox), a social networking and social television application.

• Designed, coded, and tested additions to DailyCandy’s proprietary content management and email generation systems for A/B testing of a new email template to evaluate click thru rates for subscriber emails.

• Developed new database queries using SQL to enhance internal reporting tools for more detailed analysis of subscriber email recipient open and click thru rate behavior.

• Designed, coded and tested server side resources to programmatically pull data from Adobe’s Omniture web analytic services API to increase page views by presenting web site visitors the most visited content on the DailyCandy site.

• Evaluated and prototyped the integration of a third party email service provider API into DailyCandy’s proprietary content management and email generation system for feasibility of use.

Analysis, design, development and support of interactive web sites and content management software. Technologies used include Java, JSP, Ruby On Rails, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, JSON, MySQL, Oracle 9x, REST, JBoss.

• Designed, coded and tested server side functionality using Ruby on Rails for subscriber registration pages for the Fall 2009 re-launched version of Showtime's Beat The Insiders web site application, featured on the Showtime's Inside the NFL television show.

• Designed, coded and tested all the client and server side functionality for the content management application on the Fall 2009 re-launched version of Showtime's Beat The Insiders web site using Ruby on Rails and JQuery.

• Designed, coded and tested the Capistrano deployment script for the Fall 2009 re-launched version of Showtime's Beat The Insiders web application.

• Designed, coded and tested the controller logic and database content retrieval scheme using JSP for the landing pages, article pages, tags and user comment content modules for the 2008 re-launched Madison Square Garden blogs.

• Designed, coded and unit tested a caching API using Java to make use of the host server's caching utilities for programmatic caching of content to improve server stability and performance on the 2008 re-launched Madison Square Garden blogs.

• Designed, coded, and unit tested server side resources using JSP and the Streaming API for XML (StAX) to read and parse data from the DayLife API for content aggregation as used on the re-launched 2008 Madison Square Garden blogs and Fuse.tv web sites.

Analysis, design, development and support of telecommunication interactive voice response (IVR) applications. Technologies used include C, Java, Unix, Linux, XML and the DOM, SOAP, Voice XML, Call Control XML, the Apache Tomcat web server, and the Netbeans and Eclipse IDEs.

• Developed, debugged, and tested interactive voice applications for telecommunications systems handling heavy call traffic 24 / 7. Customers included MCI (formerly Worldcom). Development was done in C and Java and used proprietary service creation tools.

• Analyzed and resolved critical customer reported defects on live telephone call handling and switching systems for a very large code base in C for Unix.

• Wrote documentation and work instructions for client use.

• Interfaced with vendors to resolve defects and add enhancements to their software products.

Software Engineer

• Coded and tested modules in C for the VxWorks operating system for an embedded real time software system for a vehicle maintenance system of an aircraft.

• Designed and proved out avionics hardware test equipment. Developed Windows software applications in C to test, debug, and program avionics hardware.
