At Shibumi, I focused on designing and building lightweight and intuitive APIs for use by external services to interface with the Shibumi web application, as well as updating outdated UI components to be more streamlined and intuitive for the end user. Through this internship, I gathered experience with maintaining a large, interconnected web application, working with technologies such as Hashicorp Vault and Facebook's GraphQL language, learning PHP and improving my proficiency in Java, working with React and other front-end technologies, and interfacing with a small-group scrum team in the Agile development process.

Over the summer, I coached sailboat racing at a local junior sailing program that I attended for many years. I worked with a small group to coach over thirty youth sailors ages 7-17. Our staff encouraged values of teamwork, leadership, cooperation, and integrity, while instructing sailors in advanced sailboat racing tactics. I also learned and applied the mechanical skill of repairing and servicing outboard powerboat engines.

I worked as a historical advisor and graphic designer on the 2015 film "Steve Jobs" (Sorkin). I worked remotely with a small team of video playback engineers over an organized file sharing protocol. Remotely, I designed historically-correct graphics (audio, video, or still visual) for on-screen use. To ensure the accuracy of my source material, I interfaced hands-on with both emulators and old Apple/NeXT hardware. As part of my larger original Macintosh history project, I networked with members of the original Apple Macintosh (1984) design team. While on set, I worked to ensure historical accuracy of displayed graphics and of the sets themselves.
