I was the first hire onto the Partner Engineering team for Stadia, Google's AAA gaming platform that streams video games from the cloud.
I worked on technical integrations with our highest-value game studios and publishers to deliver games for Stadia's launch portfolio.
In my time building out the developer program, the Partner Engineering team scaled from 2 to >60, our # of partners scaled from 0 to >1K, and the tech scaled from Prototype to Globally launched product & development platform.
Early on, I flew around the world with our Business Development team for private pitch meetings with major game studios and publishers. I delivered the technical side of the pitch for our cloud game streaming prototype, and successfully convinced industry leaders, experts, and skeptics to bet on our tech.
I documented the entire Stadia development platform from scratch (APIs, custom hardware, two OSes, build toolchain, dev environment, CLI, web tools, white papers) and shipped it to our first developers. I wrote the first HelloWorld for Stadia.
I embedded on-site with Ubisoft to support development of Assassin's Creed Odyssey for our public beta. It was our platform's first shipped game, and we sim-shipped alongside Xbox and PS4. Credited in-game in Special Thanks section. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/10/googles-project-stream-thats-really-a-full-assassins-creed-in-my-browser/
I continued to own Stadia's technical relationship with Ubisoft, the top developer+publisher on the platform. Shipped Watch Dogs 1, 2, and 3 on Stadia.
The Consumer Marketing team flew to NYC to train with me for in-home Stadia demos with celebrity influencers. Successful demos given by my team include John Legend, Paris Hilton, Snoop Dogg, Henry Cavill, Awkwafina, Tony Hawk, and Will Smith.
